01 DAY: ARRIVAL DELHI
Assistance on arrival at the airport by our representative and transfer to the pre booked hotel. During the check in, all the tour related documents will be handed over to you. All you queries and suggestion will be discussed and shorted out by our representative during the meeting. The provided car and driver will be at your disposal for the trip. After check in, if your flight is in morning time, after relaxation you may take a short tour of the city. Else the rest of time is free for leisure. Evening you can explore the local market areas. Overnight at the hotel in delhi.
Delhi, capital city of the federal republic of india. It is one of india's fastest growing cities. It has sprawled over the west bank of the river yamuna, straddling the river. Delhi blends an historic past and a vibrant present. Delhi has some of the finest museums in the country. New delhi was proclaimed the capital of india by the british architect sir edwin lutyens (1869-1944) & is tree-lined & spacious. Legend has it that the pandavas, the august heroes of the epic mahabharata, originally founded delhi, then called indraprastha, around 1200 b.c. present day delhi is built around the ruins of seven ancient cities.
02 DAY: DELHI
After breakfast the sightseeing tour to explore the historic city, firstly visiting old delhi: (shahajahanabad) the majestic red fort, a marvel in red sandstone walls of historical lal qila, built in 1638, sprawled in 2 kilometers with a high of 18 meters, jama masjid, the largest and most splendid mosque in india, both built by emperor shah jahan of taj mahal fame, rajghat, memorial of mahatma gandhi, where he was cremated, later in you opt to have rickshaw ride past through the bustling bazaar of in chandani chowk. The sightseeing continue to explore the best tourist attractions of new delhi include president house (rashtrapati bhawan), during the british rule this places was the residence of british viceroys, india gate, this monument was built to honour and tribute to the indian soldiers, sacrificed themselves during the afghan war, then visiting birla mandir (laxmi narayan temple) built by the one of the most richest industrialist birla family. Humayun's tomb, lotus shaped bhai's temple, qutub minar, built by qutub-ud-din aibek of the slave dynasty; in the evening witness the light and sound show at red fort. The show projects splendid history of 5000 years old city, a truly memorable experience. Return to the hotel for overnight at the hotel.

03 DAY: DELHI MATHURA / VRINDAVAN SIKANDRA AGRA (210 KMS: 4 HOURS)
Today morning check out and drive to agra, the city of world famous taj mahal. Enroute you may opt to stop over at mathura- vrindavan, the birth place of lord krishna, to visit some of notable temples bankey bihari and iskcon. Later continue to drive to agra, on the way visit at sikandra, a marvelous mausoleum of mughal emperor akbar, spectacularly designed structure of hindu and muslim architecture, afterwards proceed to agra. On arrival transfer to the hotel, after relaxation. Later start the tour of visiting the tomb of itamad-ud-daula, 35 kms from agra, built by empress noorjehan daughter of shahjahan, this monument a tribute to her great father. Later return to the hotel the hotel for overnight stay.
Agra is famous as being home to one of the seven wonders of the world-the taj mahal. Built by the great mughal emperor shahjahan, an eternal love story written on the shimmering marble for his wife mumtaz. Agra is pleasant town with comparatively slow pace, agra is known for its superb inlay work on marble and soapstone by craftsmen who are descendant of those who worked under the mughals. The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes. Agra, and the nearby city of fatehpur sikri, is conveniently close to delhi. Besides the taj mahal is agra fort, sikandra, ram bagh and itmad-ud-daulah-35 kms away are the imperial ruins of the mughal city, fatehpur sikri. 04 DAY: AGRA
Early morning visit world's most popular and beautiful monument: taj mahal with its fabulous view at the time of sunrise. Taj mahal, beautiful architectural monument among the 7 wonders of the world; this historical masterpiece is illustration of the fusion of diverse architectural styles. Taj mahal is crown of all the loveliest buildings in the world, a symbol of eternal love. The tour continues to visit agra fort,was built in 1576 ad., by great mughal emperor akbar, structured and designed with red stoned barricaded; in the fort you will find most splendid pearl mosque and various other classic example of art: Jahangir mahal, moti masjid, macchhi bhawan, nagina masjid, diwan-i-khas, sheesh mahal, diwan-e-am, meena bazaar and musamman bhurj where from emperor shahjahan, prisoner of his son rebellious aurangzeb, he put his father in the cell of agra fort, where from he could see his love reflecting through the taj mahal, where his loveliest wife was cremated. In the evening one should visit oswal emporium to watch the replica of taj mahal it took 10 years for the artists to built this artistic epitome, also enjoy light and sound show mohabbat-the-taj: the saga of love theonly show of its kind in india! Later return to the hotel for overnight stay.

05 DAY: AGRA FATHEPUR SIKRI JAIPUR (240 KMS: 5 6 HOURS)
After breakfast check out the hotel and drive pink city jaipur. Enroute stop over at fatehpur sikri, the old deserted town of the mughal kingdom, built in red sandstone in honour of saint salim chisti who blessed birth of 3 sons to emperor akbar, is an example of robust stability combined with originality. Each important structure here represents a type by itself. Notable among them is the diwane e khas; punch mahal, the tomb of salim chisti, and the buland darwaza, one of the largest and tallest gateways in the world. In the evening you can explore the bustling market of jaipur by cycle rickshaw ride, which is paradise for shopping lovers, jaipur is worldly famous for hand woven carpet, precious stones, handicraft, marble, textile, blue pottery, handmade papers, later return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Jaipur widely known as the pink city. This city is color washed pink to welcome prince albert, the consort of queen victoria of england who visited india in 1883 a.d. the city was founded in 1727 a.d by one of the greatest ruler jai singh ii.
Jaipur is surrounded by hills on three sides, crowned by formidable forts and majestic palaces, mansions and gardens. Jaipur is the only city in the world, which is sub-divided in to nine rectangular sectors symbolizing nine divisions of universe. Jaipur is the first planned city designed in accordance with shilpa shastra- epochal treatise of hindu architecture.
06 DAY: JAIPUR
Today after breakfast explore the pink city with an excursion to amber fort, situated just outside the city. Afternoon sightseeing tour of city palace in the heart of jaipur is known for its blend of rajasthani and mughal architecture. Not far away is the central museum. Jantar mantar is the largest of the five observatories built by sawai jai singh. The hawa mahal or the palace of winds was constructed for the royal ladies to watch the royal processions without being seen, all monuments are located in the vicinity of city palace complex of jaipur. Later late afternoon is kept free to visit the famous markets of textiles, gems, carpets, and handicrafts. Jaipur is an ideal place for buying souvenirs. In the evening you may opt to explore the colorful bazaar of jaipur by cycle rickshaw ride. Overnight at the hotel.
07 JAIPUR- BOMBAY
Morning: check out from your hotel and transfer to the airport to board your flight.
Arrive mumbai in the late morning. You're greeted at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Start your half day tour of mumbai, which will include visit to the prince of wales museum, the dome of glazed tiles giving it a very persian and central asian flavor; the chhatrapati shivaji terminus (a world heritage site), formerly known as victoria terminus station, is an outstanding example of victorian gothic revival architecture in india, blended with themes deriving from indian traditional architecture; the heritage fort district; dhobi ghat (open air laundromat) and mani bhawan (mahatma gandhi's mumbai home).

08 DAY MUMBAI-COCHIN
Morning: take a motor launch from the gateway of india for an introduction to the indo saracenic architectural styles that influenced many of india's monuments. From here we board a launch for a half-hour journey across mumbai harbor to the cave temples on elephanta island. Excavated during the 9th century, the caves are dedicated to the trinity of indian deities bhrama, vishnu and shiva. Some of the sculptures were destroyed when the island was used as bivouac for the portuguese who used the images for target practice.
Afternoon: you're transferred to the mumbai airport to board your flight.
Arrive cochin in the evening and transfer to your hotel.
09 DAY COCHIN
Morning: an ancient harbor town, cochin reflects the influence of the many foreign traders who visited the city. The jewish synagogue, one of the oldest in india, is set in the heart of the area known as "jew town" surrounded by an aromatic spice market, and interesting shops selling antiques. The synagogue is decorated with blue ceramic chinese tiles, each distinct in their design. The pictures on the tiles relate the tale of the romance between a wealthy mandarin. We spend time in the surrounding markets and walk to the mattancherry palace, which was commissioned by the portuguese for the raja of kochi in exchange for trading rights. The palace is two storeys high and is built in the traditional kerala style known as nalukattu (four buildings). The palace exhibits memorabilia from the raja of kochi' collection, but it is best known for its outstanding murals painted on the wooden walls. The royal bedroom has ceilings and walls covered with forty-five 16th century paintings illustrating the ramayana. From here visit the st. Francis church, established by the portuguese franciscan friars in 1503. Vasco da gama was buried in the courtyard of this european church, one of the first built in india. Also visit the chinese fishing nets (they are a great part of this tour), which is a more than a century old traditional form of catching fish and still in use.
Late afternoon: witness kathakali dance performance in a theatre. Kathakali is a classical dance form that has its origins in theyyam a ritual tribal dance of north kerala and kalaripayyattu the martial arts which goes back 1000 years. The dancers use dramatic costumes and exaggerated facial make up, and to accompaniment of drums and cymbals, use stylized movements to relate episodes from the mahabharat and ramayan. You will arrive early at the theatre to watch the dancers prepare for their performance.
10 DAY COCHIN - ALLEPPEY
Morning: check out from your hotel after breakfast and drive to alleppey to board your houseboat for an overnight cruise.
A visit to kerala is incomplete without a visit to the backwaters. A series of canals, which thread their way through the state to the sea, it allows you a glimpse of life in kerala impossible to get from road transport. Along the way you will pass rice fields, tiny villages, boats transporting children to school and farmers transporting their produce to the market, and women completing household tasks such as laundry and washing utensils. You will disembark from the boat to wander in the villages and talk to the people. At night the boat will anchor mid stream, and your meals will be specially prepared by the crew from freshly bought produce.
11 DAY ALLEPPEY TO KUMARAKOM
Late morning: disembark from your houseboat at kumarakom and check in to your hotel.
You are at leisure on this day to enjoy ayurvedic spa facilities at your lakefront resort or explore the nearby villages (on your own) on the picturesque island of kumarakom.
12 DAY KUMARAKOM TO COCHIN
Early morning: you have option to visit kumarakom bird sanctuary to view the incredible birdlife of vembanad lake.check out from your hotel by noon. After early lunch, drive to the cochin airport to board your return flight to mumbai or delhi. |
